Search Tips

Type all the words that you want to find into the search box, separated by spaces, and press the Search button. By default, only records that contain all of your search terms will be found.

To search for records that include either word A or word B, use an uppercase OR between search terms.

By default, only exact word matches will be found. Searching for clown, for example, will not find any records contain the word clowns or clowning. However, you can use asterisks as wildcard characters at the beginning and end of a search term to search for parts of a word. For example, clown* would also find clowns and clowning.

To find an entire phrase, enclose the phrase in quotation marks (e.g. "Joseph Grimaldi").

If you want to deliberately exclude a word from the search results, put a minus sign before the search term (e.g. clown -grimaldi will find all records containing the word clown that do not also contain the word grimaldi).
